Who we are:
Delta, founded in 1971, is a global provider of power and thermal management solutions. Its mission statement, "To provide innovative, clean and energy-efficient solutions for a better tomorrow," focuses on addressing key environmental issues such as global climate change. As an energy-saving solutions provider with core competencies in power electronics and automation, Delta's business categories include Power Electronics, Mobility, Automation, and Infrastructure.
About the role:
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with strong expertise in 2D/3D design and automation equipment assembly. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing cost-effective mechanical solutions, supporting automation integration, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Candidates with electrical/control system knowledge will be highly valued.
Key responsibilities:
Design and develop mechanical components, mechanisms, and products for industrial automation applications.
Develop dynamic mechanical mechanisms involving motion, actuation, linkages, pulleys, gears, belts, and other motion-related systems.
Create and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, and 2D engineering drawings.
Evaluate assembly sequence, mechanical interfaces, clearances, tolerances, and manufacturability.
Work directly with U.S. customer engineers to understand application requirements and resolve mechanical design issues.
Act as a technical bridge between North American customers and engineering teams in Taiwan to drive joint design activities and issue resolution.
Collaborate cross-functionally with EE, firmware, test, manufacturing, sourcing, and other engineering teams.
Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, and problem-solving activities across multiple teams and locations.
Apply fundamental mechanics and engineering principles to practical product design challenges.
Occasionally participate in international conference calls outside normal business hours to coordinate with global engineering teams.
Travel occasionally to customer sites and application locations to understand system requirements and support design activities.
Support prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, and design improvements throughout the product development cycle.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
3+ years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably in product design, industrial automation, robotics, motion systems, or related industries.
Strong experience with 3D CAD modeling and mechanical assemblies. (Creo/SolidWorks)
Solid understanding of 2D engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and mechanical interfaces.
Able to understand and define assembly sequences and mechanical integration requirements.
Strong understanding of engineering mechanics and the ability to apply mechanical principles to real-world design problems.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across U.S. and international engineering teams.
Comfortable working in a cross-functional and collaborative environment.
Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites.
Willingness to participate in occasional evening international conference calls.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with industrial automation equipment or automated production lines.
Previous experience in mechanical product design and development.
Experience designing dynamic mechanisms or motion systems.
Experience with mechanical simulation / structural analysis / FEA.
Experience with mechatronic system integration.
Experience working with motors, actuators, gearboxes, belts, pulleys, linkages, or other motion components.
Experience working directly with customers on joint engineering or co-development projects.
Experience with prototyping, testing, and design verification.
Experience working with global engineering teams or international customers.
Team & Collaboration
We value engineers who are not only technically capable but also team-oriented, collaborative, and willing to support others.
Experience participating in team-based sports or other team-oriented activities is a must-have, demonstrating teamwork, communication, accountability, and a willingness to work toward a common goal.
