Electrical Engineer

PYRRHUS is looking for an Electrical Engineer to own PCB design for our innovative weapon-mounted remote control system, from schematic capture through fabrication, assembly, and test. You'll design both analog and digital circuits and get hands-on with bring-up and debugging on the bench. You'll work alongside other engineers on the team throughout the process, from firmware and mechanical to RF layout support and testing.

What You'll Do
Own the PCB layouts
Design analog and digital circuits for sensors, payload electronics, and communication modules
Design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) to support production-scale builds
May work with PCB fabrication and contract assembly vendors - quoting, DFM reviews, issue resolution
Develop and run test procedures for board bring-up and validation
Select and integrate RF communication components; work with modulation/encoding schemes (e.g., FSK, LoRa)
Build, rework, and debug prototypes yourself - soldering, rework, bench instrumentation (scope, multimeter, spectrum analyzer)
Collaborate with firmware and mechanical engineering on system-level integration

Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience designing PCBs that shipped to production, including assembly and test
Proficiency in Altium Designer and/or KiCad
Strong fundamentals in analog and digital circuit design
Working knowledge of RF communication techniques: FSK, LoRa, modulation, encoding/decoding
Able to produce a complete, correct RF schematic
Hands-on lab experience - comfortable soldering, reworking boards, and debugging hardware yourself
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with PCB fab/assembly vendors
Experience designing to military specifications (MIL-STD)
Prior work with weapon-mounted devices/electronics
Prior work on small UAV, drone, or other size/weight/power-constrained electronics
Experience building RF transmitter/receiver modules for video transmission
Prior U.S. military service, especially in Army, Marine Corps, Airborne, Ranger, SOF units (or any other relevant units).
Active or prior Secret clearance is a plus.
