Structural Design Engineer – Launch Vehicle Development & Team Mentorship

This role sits at the heart of a launch vehicle program where you’ll take ownership of critical mechanical and structural systems, guiding designs from early architecture to flight-ready hardware. But just as importantly, you'll help build and mentor the next generation of aerospace engineers, shaping how we work as much as what we build.

We’re looking for someone who still loves being technical, but finds real energy in reviewing a teammate’s work, unblocking cross-functional challenges, and helping a junior engineer grow in confidence and capability.

🌎 What You’ll Be Doing:
Own major mechanical systems or structural components for a next-gen launch vehicle
Guide early-stage architecture, concept development, and integration planning
Serve as a trusted resource and mentor for junior engineers on your team
Review models, drawings, analyses, and test plans with technical rigor and care
Help define processes, documentation standards, and best practices for how the team works
Collaborate across propulsion, integration, avionics, and test to solve multidisciplinary challenges

✅ You Might Be a Fit If:
You have 8+ years of experience designing and delivering aerospace flight hardware
You've worked on launch vehicles, spacecraft, or similar complex flight systems
You’ve owned hardware through the full lifecycle: concept, design, manufacturing, test, and integration
You’ve mentored younger engineers or been the technical go-to person on past teams
You're comfortable in CAD (NX preferred) and understand structural loads, interfaces, and materials
You enjoy finding the fastest path to a reliable design, and teaching others how to think that way

This is a full-time, on-site role based in the greater Seattle area. You’ll be joining a growing team where your voice matters, your input is valued, and your influence is tangible- in the product, and in the people.
