Role Description The Chip Design Engineer will design, develop, and optimize integrated circuits and related components for advanced engineering and health care technology solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and reviewing chip architectures, developing schematics and layout using industry-standard design tools, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into detailed technical specifications. The engineer will perform simulations, verification, and validation of chip designs, troubleshoot design issues, and support prototype development and testing. This is a full-time, on-site role based in San Diego, CA, requiring close coordination with hardware, software, and product teams to ensure high-quality, reliable chip designs that meet performance, cost, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Design Engineering and Product Design, with experience translating requirements into robust chip and component designs.
Background in Electrical Engineering with knowledge of semiconductor devices, circuit design, and electronic systems.
Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools and electronic design automation (EDA) software for schematic capture and layout.
Relevant Mechanical Engineering knowledge for packaging, thermal considerations, and integration into larger systems.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience with chip-level verification, simulation, and testing methodologies; familiarity with industry standards and compliance requirements.
Ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams, communicate technical concepts clearly, and manage multiple design tasks in parallel.
Prior experience in multi-cloud, health care technology, or embedded systems environments is beneficial.
