Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer with strong expertise in facilities design projects across New York City. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in structural analysis, design, and coordination for commercial, institutional, transportation, and public infrastructure facilities. This role requires strong technical leadership, client coordination, and the ability to manage projects from concept through construction.
Key Responsibilities
Lead structural design and analysis for facilities projects including commercial buildings, transportation facilities, institutional buildings, and infrastructure upgrades.
Prepare structural calculations, specifications, reports, and construction documents.
Design using steel, concrete, masonry, and foundation systems in compliance with NYC Building Codes and industry standards.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including architectural, MEP, civil, and construction teams.
Review shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and perform construction support services.
Conduct site visits, structural assessments, and inspections as required.
Manage project schedules, budgets, and technical deliverables.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to project teams.
Interface with clients, agencies, and stakeholders throughout project execution.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
8–10 years of progressive structural engineering experience.
Strong experience in facilities/building design projects within NYC.
Professional Engineer (PE) License required.
Proficiency in structural design and analysis software such as:
ETABS
STAAD Pro
RAM Structural System
RISA 3D
AutoCAD / Revit
Strong understanding of:
NYC Building Codes
IBC
ASCE 7
AISC
ACI standards
Excellent communication and project coordination skills
