We are looking for a Senior UX Researcher & Designer who combines product research and design R&D with hands-on delivery. In this role you will own competitive benchmarking for the Hexamatics product suite — systematically evaluating our interfaces against leading enterprise platforms — and translate what you find into evidence-based research reports, prioritised enhancement proposals, and clear design direction that senior stakeholders can act on. You will produce wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes in Figma, and take approved designs through to clean, responsive HTML and CSS that Angular engineering teams can implement directly. You are expected to work fluently with AI-assisted design and research tooling (Claude, Figma MCP, and comparable assistants) to compress discovery, exploration, and handoff cycles without lowering the quality bar. Beyond individual contribution, you will mentor junior team members, act as a trusted thought partner to Product Management and Engineering, and be a credible voice for user-centred, accessible, multi-device design at the senior stakeholder level. This role demands someone who is analytically sharp, design-literate, technically capable, and highly collaborative — a practitioner who sets the quality bar and brings others along with them.
Product R&D, Benchmarking & Competitive Analysis
♦ Own a continuous benchmarking programme that evaluates OSOS product interfaces against competitive and best-in-class enterprise platforms (e.g. Oracle Fusion/Redwood, SAP Fiori, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Odoo, Zoho and category-relevant regional products), documenting clearly where we lead, match, or lag
♦ Establish and maintain a structured benchmarking framework — evaluation criteria, scoring model, screen library, and evidence base — so comparisons are objective, repeatable, and trackable release over release
♦ Track emerging UI/UX patterns, design system releases, and platform guidelines (Material, Fluent, Human Interface Guidelines) and assess their practical applicability to our products and roadmap
♦ Run design R&D spikes and proofs of concept on new interaction models, navigation paradigms, data-dense layouts, and emerging tooling before commitments are made to the roadmap
♦ Conduct expert heuristic reviews of existing product screens and maintain a prioritised improvement backlog — each item carrying rationale, expected user impact, and indicative implementation effort
♦ Produce well-argued research and benchmarking reports with actionable, effort-aware recommendations for Product Management and senior leadership, and present them for decision-making
UX Research & Validation
♦ Plan and execute mixed-methods research aligned to product roadmap milestones — user interviews, contextual inquiry with client and internal users, concept testing, moderated and unmoderated usability testing, surveys, card sorting and tree testing
♦ Facilitate moderated usability sessions with confidence, probing effectively and reading non-verbal cues to surface latent user needs
♦ Drive rigorous qualitative and quantitative analysis — thematic coding, affinity mapping, statistical interpretation — to produce findings that are valid, reliable, and defensible
♦ Define, track, and report UX metrics (task success rate, time-on-task, error rates, SUS/NPS, adoption) to measure design impact and demonstrate the return on research and design investment
♦ Govern the central research and benchmarking repository, ensuring insights are tagged, searchable, and reusable for longitudinal knowledge building
UX Strategy & Interface Design
♦ Translate research and benchmarking findings into personas, journey maps, service blueprints, and sharply framed problem statements that shape roadmap and prioritisation conversations
♦ Create user flows, information architectures, and interaction models that handle the complexity and data density of enterprise workflows without overwhelming the user
♦ Produce low-to-high fidelity wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes in Figma, iterating rapidly on research findings, design critique, and stakeholder input
♦ Design responsively across web, tablet, and mobile — defining breakpoint behaviour, adaptive layouts, touch targets, and input differences as part of the design, not as an engineering afterthought
♦ Own accessibility as a design responsibility: meet WCAG 2.1 AA, and specify colour contrast, focus order, keyboard interaction, semantic intent, and screen-reader behaviour in the design itself
♦ Extend and govern the design system — proposing new components and patterns, documenting usage guidelines, and maintaining token, typography, spacing, and component integrity across all products
Design-to-Code & Engineering Collaboration
♦ Convert approved designs into clean, semantic, responsive HTML and CSS/SCSS of production quality that front-end engineers can integrate directly into Angular applications
♦ Build and maintain a design-system-aligned style foundation (tokens, variables, utility patterns, component styles) so implemented UI stays faithful to design intent as products scale
♦ Work with Angular component structures well enough to review implemented screens, identify deviations from specification, and articulate the required fixes in terms engineers can act on
♦ Produce complete handoff specifications covering states, empty/loading/error conditions, validation, responsive rules, motion, and accessibility notes — and stay engaged through build, QA, and UAT
♦ Conduct design QA on delivered builds across supported browsers and devices, logging defects and tracking them to closure
Technical Fluency
♦ Writes semantic, responsive, maintainable HTML and CSS to production standard, and understands how designs translate into componentised front-end code
♦ Reads and reasons about Angular component structure well enough to assess feasibility, review implementation fidelity, and hold credible technical conversations with engineers
♦ Designs with an awareness of performance, browser and device constraints, and localisation requirements rather than treating them as someone else's problem
Required
♦ Bachelor's degree in Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Information Science, Psychology, or a closely related discipline
♦ 5–8+ years of hands-on experience in UI/UX design and product research within a digital or enterprise software product environment
♦ A comprehensive portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership — problem framing, research and benchmarking, design decisions, and the interfaces that shipped as a result
♦ Expert-level Figma: wireframing, high-fidelity mockups, interactive prototyping, components, variants, auto-layout, and design system contribution
♦ Proven ability to hand-code semantic, responsive HTML5 and CSS3/SCSS to production standard, converting designs into build-ready markup
♦ Working knowledge of Angular — component structure, templates, and data binding — sufficient to collaborate on implementation and review delivered UI against specification
♦ Demonstrated experience in competitive product benchmarking and analysis, producing written reports with prioritised, actionable recommendations
♦ Practical, current experience using AI tooling in the design workflow (Claude, Figma MCP, or equivalent assistants) for research, ideation, prototyping, or code generation
♦ Strong command of responsive and adaptive design across web, tablet, and mobile, including mobile-first thinking and touch interaction considerations
♦ Working knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) and their practical application in interface and interaction design, including keyboard and screen-reader behaviour
♦ Experience with mixed-methods research: interviews, usability testing, surveys, analytics, and UX benchmarking
♦ Strong familiarity with Agile/Scrum development ceremonies and product discovery frameworks
Advantageous
♦ Experience in enterprise domains such as core banking, ERP, HRMS, CRM, or procurement/supplier management
♦ Experience designing bilingual English/Arabic products with full RTL layout support
♦ Familiarity with design token and design system tooling (Tokens Studio, Style Dictionary, Storybook) and component documentation practices
♦ Experience with specialist UX research and analytics tools (Dovetail, Maze, Optimal Workshop, UserTesting, GA4, Hotjar, Mixpanel, Clarity)
♦ Master's degree in UX, HCI, Cognitive Psychology, or a related research-focused discipline
♦ Professional certification in UX practice (e.g. Nielsen Norman Group UX Certificate, UXPA CUA, IAAP CPACC accessibility certification)
♦ Exposure to motion and micro-interaction design and prototyping tools (Figma Make, Framer, Lottie)
Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or equivalent tools for Agile project management and documentation
