Duration: 24 months on W2 with possible extensions or C2H
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week
Pay Rate: $62.14/hour

Position Summary
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the development and optimization of advanced manufacturing and additive manufacturing processes. This role will focus on mechanical design, 3D CAD modeling, rapid prototyping, material and process evaluation, and testing of components and assemblies.
The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical design background with hands-on experience in 3D CAD modeling, assembly design, prototyping, and manufacturing processes. Experience with additive manufacturing, 3D printing, injection molding, or other advanced manufacturing technologies is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and support mechanical designs, components, assemblies, and manufacturing processes.
Create and modify 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and engineering documentation.
Design and optimize parts for additive manufacturing, rapid prototyping, and production applications.
Evaluate relationships between material properties, design requirements, and manufacturing processes.
Support prototype development, fabrication, testing, and design validation.
Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements.
Investigate and resolve material, process, and part-quality issues, including defects and manufacturing-related failures.
Develop test methods, procedures, and inspection requirements.
Perform mechanical inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and failure analysis.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve part quality, manufacturability, and process reliability.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges.
Develop work instructions, process documentation, and technical reports.
Provide technical support and guidance related to new manufacturing processes, technologies, and product development activities.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Strong background in mechanical design and 3D CAD modeling.
Experience designing mechanical parts and assemblies.
Ability to create and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Experience with prototyping, testing, and design validation.
Understanding of manufacturing processes and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in a hands-on engineering and manufacturing environment.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with additive manufacturing, 3D printing, rapid prototyping, or direct digital manufacturing.
Experience with injection molding, plastics, or other manufacturing processes.
Experience with SolidWorks, Siemens NX, Autodesk Inventor, or similar CAD software.
Experience with material and process optimization.
Knowledge of mechanical testing, inspection, and failure analysis.
Experience developing manufacturing processes, test procedures, or work instructions.
Semiconductor or advanced manufacturing industry experience.
