Senior FPGA Engineer

A leading trading firm is expanding its hardware teams with strong FPGA Engineers in Chicago or Austin.
What You'll Do:
Design and develop high-performance FPGA solutions for latency-sensitive systems
Accelerate critical infrastructure and data processing components through custom hardware architectures
Explore emerging technologies, platforms, and design approaches that can improve system performance
Partner closely with quantitative researchers, software engineers, and infrastructure teams
Develop custom hardware interfaces for next-generation computing environments
Evaluate and collaborate with external technology providers where appropriate
Take ownership of projects from concept through deployment
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
Professional experience designing, implementing, and validating FPGA or ASIC-based systems
Strong understanding of digital design principles and hardware architecture
Experience with HDL development using technologies such as VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog
Familiarity with C and/or C++ is beneficial
Knowledge of RTL design flows, timing closure, synthesis, and constraint management
Experience with simulation environments, verification methodologies, and automated test frameworks
Exposure to hardware bring-up, debugging, and system integration is advantageous
Ability to collaborate effectively across software and hardware engineering disciplines
