Design boards that keep working where most electronics gives up
There's no handing off your design off to someone else here - you own it, from end to end. You'll be designing mixed signal and digital boards, and will be working in a rapid prototyping environment, with short development lifecycles followed by testing. You'll then take the feedback and use it in your next design - making it smaller, lighter, and more cost effective.
If you like seeing a design through to the point where you see if it works, this role will suit you. You'll be testing your own boards, looking into the data, and improving your designs. A strong analytical mind, and being able to building and solving calculations yourself would be a big advantage.
The role is based on site in Herndon, Virginia, and the base salary is in the region of $140k - $150k, with a bonus and equity on top.
You will need to be eligible for Secret level security clearance to be considered for this role, and you will also need to be happy with occasional travel within the US and Europe for testing.
What you'll do
Own board designs from end to end, from schematic through to bring up
Design digital and analog boards
Reduce size, weight, and component count, without losing performance
Build and test prototypes then make revisions based on the test data
Support product testing at onsite locations
What you'll need
4+ years electrical engineering experience
Rapid prototyping - you've taken designs through fast iterations
PCB design, including miniaturization and component reduction
Digital and mixed signal board design
Eligibility for Secret level clearance
