Fully remote FPGA work - no commute, but a host of interesting technical challenges to deal with.
You'll be designing FPGA firmware for embedded compute platforms. You'll be taking algorithms from the DSP team and turning them into something that can be implemented onto the hardware. You'll work in a small, experienced team, and will play a key role in shaping what possible on the device and bringing up up to the point where it can be shipped to customers.
Your primarily role initially will be working on a software defined radio project, and you will be spending most of your time on Zynq UltraScale+ designs. You'll also be involved in projects featuring image and video processing technology.
You also won't just be boxed into FPGA design - you'll be able to read schematics to ensure everything is linked up, and get involved in the debug and bring up of the board. If you like using the full breadth of your technical skills, rather than doing the same thing every day, this would be a great fit.
The base salary for this role is in the region of $180k - $200k, depending on experience.
What you'll do
Design FPGA firmware in VHDL or SystemVerilog
Take DSP algorithms and turn them into efficient hardware implementations
Work of wideband receive designs, and all of the signal processing behind them
Build and debug AXI4-Stream data movement, DMA paths, and interfaces
Support the entire bring up process, including verification and integration, alongside hardware and software engineers
What you'll need
Strong FPGA design skills, particularly on Xilinx/AMD platforms
Solid DSP implementation background
Knowledge of AXI4-Stream
Knowledge of high speed serial interfaces
Please note to be considered for this role you must be eligible as per the statement at the end below, and you must be able to travel occasionally to Baltimore, Maryland, to carry out some testing work. The rest of this role is remote.
This position requires access to technology and information subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
