Perform and document analyses on projects, including hand calcs, circuit simulations, and CAD.
Design circuitry, PCBs, embedded, and high-level electrical system architectures
Write embedded code (microcontrollers, drivers, communication systems, PLCs)
Collaborate with stakeholders across disciplines to satisfy electrical requirements for mechanical hardware and control systems
Troubleshooting and diagnosis of electrical system problems including EMI / EMC issues with the ability to provide data driven solutions to make the system more robust
Lead design reviews internally and externally with customers
Communicate frequently and effectively with team members
Be responsible for deadlines, technically excellent, and accountable for your work
Constantly strive to improve your own technical skills, company processes, and be willing to both teach and learn from your peers
Travel when required to support hardware assembly, testing, and integration

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field
Experience with CAD and circuit simulation software packages
Hands-on experience in the design and development of electronics, electromechanical systems, or PCBs
Demonstrated ability to perform on a highly technical and cross disciplinary hardware development team
Demonstrated ability to understand and apply electrical design principles relevant to power systems, embedded systems, and general electrical system architecture
Demonstrated ability to create, maintain, and improve processes involved in the practice of engineering and product development
Demonstrated ability to run design reviews, generate requirements, create product specifications and documentation, and perform end-to-end product testing
Familiarity and proficiency using basic electronics tools (soldering iron, crimpers, oscilloscope, etc)
Proof of US Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is required to comply with ITAR regulations

Preferred Skills:

Master’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
10+ years of professional experience in electrical design and analysis
PCB / PCBA design experience, preferably using Altium
C/C++, VHDL, or Verilog experience coding an embedded system
Experience modeling electro-mechanical systems, preferably for motor control or robotic actuator control applications
Demonstrated ability to use data and analysis to inform data driven decisions
Excellent communication skills and ability to succinctly present recommendations to stakeholders, peers, management, and executive staff
Experience at a lean engineering organization or a highly technical position that required a scrappy, entrepreneurial manner to accomplish tasks with tight time or budget constraints
