Position Summary
We are looking for a Pre-Silicon Validation Engineer with hands-on experience in SoC/IP functional validation,
ARM architecture, Embedded C, and hardware emulation platforms. The ideal candidate has experience
validating SoC/IP functionality before silicon availability, using platforms such as ZeBu, Veloce, or Palladium.
The candidate should be comfortable developing and debugging Embedded C/C test programs, working with
ARM-based systems, and validating interfaces/IPs such as I2C, SPI, CAN, EDM, and Flash interfaces including
SD, eMMC, and UFS.
Mandatory: Hands-on experience with at least one of ZeBu, Veloce, or Palladium.
Key Responsibilities
•Perform functional validation of SoC/IP blocks before silicon availability using ZeBu, Veloce, or
Palladium; validate IP functionality, registers, interrupts, and system-level interactions.
•Develop, modify, and debug Embedded C/C test programs, including low-level register-based tests,
and validate interrupts, peripherals, and hardware/software interactions.
•Work hands-on with ARM architecture / ARM-based SoCs – memory/ address mapping, registers,
interrupts, memory-mapped peripherals, and boot/initialization.
•Validate interfaces/IPs such as I2C, SPI, CAN, EDM, SD, eMMC, UFS, and Flash, covering initialization,
register programming, data transfers, interrupt behavior, error handling, and stress scenarios.
•Develop test plans/cases from specifications, run regression suites on emulation platforms, and track
defects through to closure.
•Reproduce and isolate failures on the emulator using JTAG debuggers, ARM debugging tools,
oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers; perform systematic Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
•Work with RTL, design, architecture, and firmware teams to identify and resolve issues, and validate
fixes.
Required Technical Skills
•Strong Embedded C / C programming for validation-test development and debugging.
•Hands-on ARM architecture / ARM-based SoC experience.
•Hands-on experience with at least one of ZeBu, Veloce, or Palladium (mandatory).
•Pre-Silicon IP/SoC functional validation experience.
•Experience with interfaces such as I2C, SPI, CAN, EDM; SD/eMMC/UFS/ Flash experience is highly
relevant.
•Strong hardware/software debugging and RCA skills.
Preferred Skills
•Experience with multiple emulation platforms; ARM Cortex-A / Cortex-R / Cortex-M exposure.
•SoC bring-up, RTL/IP knowledge, and Verilog/SystemVerilog or UVM/ verification exposure.
•Python or scripting for validation automation.
•Boot ROM / Bootloader, JTAG/SWD, and Linux/RTOS exposure.
•CI/CD-based regression environments.
Education
•B.E. / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or
related discipline.
Project Experience
•3–12 years including hands-on Pre-Silicon Validation on at least one of ZeBu, Veloce, or Palladium,
with a specific SoC/IP and a clearly explainable role.
•Experience validating at least one interface (I2C, SPI, CAN, EDM, SD, eMMC, UFS, or Flash).
Soft Skills
•Strong hardware/software debugging and analytical mindset.
•Ability to correlate software behavior with hardware signals and SoC/IP behavior.
•Clear documentation of test scenarios, failures, and RCA findings.
Good to Have
•NPU / AI accelerator, ML workload, or GPU/NPU/accelerator SoC validation experience.
•SoC bring-up and Boot ROM/Bootloader experience.
•UVM/verification background transitioning into pre-silicon validation.
Expected Deliverables
•Embedded C/C validation test suites and register-level test programs.
•Validation reports and RCA documentation for IP/SoC functional issues.
