Company Description DynamicAI is reinventing the future of photonic computing through patented Physics-Informed AI. The company is building an AI-powered platform that transforms how photonic semiconductors are designed, accelerating innovation and shortening development cycles. DynamicAI’s technology supports next-generation AI infrastructure, hyperscale data centers, high-performance computing, and advanced networking. The mission is to make AI an essential engineering partner for designing photonic technologies that will power the future of computing, offering team members the opportunity to shape foundational systems for tomorrow’s digital infrastructure.

Role Description
We are looking for a Co-Founder – Photonic Chip Design Engineer to join DynamicAI and lead the development of our patented Photonic Design Automation (PIAI-PDA).
This is an equity-only founding role for an experienced photonics engineer who wants to play a central role in building a deep-tech startup. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in designing, simulating, fabricating, and testing photonic chips and will work closely with the founding team to turn advanced photonic concepts into working hardware.
The Co-Founder will have significant technical ownership and the opportunity to help shape the company's photonic technology, product roadmap, and intellectual property.

Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of advanced photonic integrated circuits (PICs).
Design complex photonic structures including waveguides, WDM MUX/DEMUX, modulators, optical routing, and related photonic components.
Develop fabrication-ready photonic layouts and manage the design process through tape-out, fabrication, and testing.
Perform and analyze photonic simulations using tools such as Lumerical/Ansys, COMSOL, or equivalent.
Develop experimental test plans and characterize fabricated photonic devices.
Compare experimental measurements with simulation and identify opportunities for design optimization.
Work with photonic foundries and fabrication partners to manufacture prototype chips.
Help establish the company's photonic design and testing capabilities.
Collaborate with the AI/ML team to integrate physics-informed AI into photonic chip design and optimization.
Contribute to technical strategy, intellectual property, publications, and future product development.
As a founding team member, contribute to broader technical and strategic decisions as the company grows.
Qualifications
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, Optical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
Strong industry or research experience in photonic integrated circuit design.
Demonstrated experience designing and testing fabricated photonic chips.
Strong knowledge of silicon photonics and photonic device physics.
Experience with waveguides, WDM, MUX/DEMUX, modulators, couplers, optical routing, photodetectors, insertion loss, and crosstalk.
Experience with photonic simulation tools such as Lumerical/Ansys, COMSOL, or equivalent.
Experience with photonic layout, PDKs, semiconductor foundries, and fabrication workflows.
Hands-on experience with optical/electrical characterization and laboratory testing.
Strong Python, MATLAB, or similar programming experience is a plus.
Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to take ownership in an early-stage startup.
Ability to work independently and solve complex technical problems.
Experience taking photonic designs from concept → simulation → layout → fabrication → testing is highly preferred.
Compensation
This is an equity-only Co-Founder position. No salary is offered initially. The selected candidate will receive founder-level equity, with the specific equity allocation to be determined based on experience, expected commitment, and role within the founding team.
This opportunity is intended for someone who wants to take a significant ownership position in building a deep-tech photonics company from the ground up, rather than joining as a traditional engineering employee.
