M Group Energy (Overhead Lines) is looking for an experienced Overhead Line CAD Technician to support the Design team based in Pune, India.

Role Description
The CAD Technician provides technical drafting expertise to support the preparation, production and coordination of CAD drawings and design documentation across engineering and infrastructure projects. The role creates, updates and manages CAD outputs, supporting engineers and designers by translating technical information into accurate, compliant drawings and digital design assets.
The CAD Technician plays a key role in maintaining drawing standards, supporting surveys, organising design information and ensuring coordinated, high quality design deliverables across project teams.

Skills and Experience
Essential:
Minimum 3 to 4 years of experience as a CAD Technician in Overhead Lines industry
Proven and successful track record of completing drawings and reports for overhead line design such as Insulator set drawings, generic/specific wire clearance diagrams, line schedules, spacer and vibration damper schedules, sag-tension reports, route maps, single line diagrams, stage by stage drawings, foundation drawings and other drawings as required
Experience of developing designs for 132kV, 275kV, 400kV and higher voltage levels.
Competent user of AutoCAD, MicroStation and/or similar CAD drafting software for developing both 2D and 3D drawings.
Ability to produce accurate drawings, sketches and layouts with minimal supervision.
Awareness of engineering design processes, drawing standards and quality requirements.
Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple drawing tasks concurrently.
Competence in Microsoft Office and ability to manage technical and drawing information.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.


Desirable:
Experience on steelwork detailing of overhead line structures in software such as BoCAD, Tekla Structures or similar detailing software
Experience on mapping software such as ArcGIS will be beneficial
Familiarity with BIM and additional software such as Civil 3D, Revit, Autodesk Inventor or similar software.
Understanding of design standards, CAD conventions and engineering terminology.
