The successful candidate will be responsible for defining technical roadmaps and ensuring the successful transition of advanced concepts into high volume manufacturing environments.

This position requires a consistent onsite presence at one of several key technology hubs, including Austin, Phoenix, or the Bay Area.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and optimization of advanced manufacturing processes and equipment configurations to meet aggressive device specifications.

Conduct feasibility studies and pathfinding activities to enable innovative device architectures.

Collaborate with global equipment and material vendors to develop cost effective technology roadmaps and custom hardware solutions.

Implement process modifications to enhance production yield, efficiency, and overall manufacturing output.

Serve as a subject matter authority, influencing technical decisions across multiple departments and external partnerships without direct management authority.

Required Experience and Expertise

Extensive background in technical ownership and delivery of dry etch innovations that have supported technology node transitions or yield improvements.

Mastery of plasma physics, surface interactions, and defect control for advanced semiconductor structures.

Proven ability to apply advanced data analytics, statistical modeling, and design of experiments to solve complex engineering challenges.

Significant experience in developing solutions for advanced logic or foundry technologies, specifically focusing on FinFET, GAA, or nanosheet architectures.

Hands on experience with specialized etch technologies including High Aspect Ratio, Atomic Layer Etch, and EUV integration.

Strong background in material characterization using SEM, TEM, AFM, and electrical correlation.

History of breaking technical bottlenecks that directly impacted product ramp success and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

A PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related STEM field with a minimum of 10 years of direct industry experience.

Alternatively, a Master degree in a relevant field with 15 or more years of experience will be considered.

Authoritative expertise in dry etch semiconductor manufacturing, preferably within a foundry environment.

A strong record of patents, publications, or internal technical disclosures demonstrating industry recognized contributions.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary range for this senior level role is 201,000 to 284,000 dollars, depending on location and depth of experience. The client offers a comprehensive compensation package including competitive base pay, stock options, bonuses, and an industry leading benefits program covering health, retirement, and vacation.
