Who We Are
Agiliti is a top manufacturer and service provider for medical and surgical equipment. We partner with clinicians to help them stay patient-ready. Our team provides a range of devices and support required to safely care for patients, and we make sure essential equipment is ready and available when it's needed — from the ER to the OR. We operate locally — 24/7, nationwide — serving more than 10,000 customers who count on Agiliti to be ready for life-saving patient care.
What’s in it for You?
Work on meaningful medical products that directly impact patient care
Join a hands‑on, collaborative design team at our Milwaukee Design Center
End‑to‑end exposure to the product lifecycle — concept through production
Opportunities to prototype, test, and build real hardware
Cross‑functional collaboration with Manufacturing, Quality/Regulatory, and Sales
Career growth in a regulated, high‑impact medical device environment
Travel opportunities to manufacturing locations (including Hayes) as needed
What You Will Do in This Role?
Lead and contribute to multiple mechanical design projects from concept through implementation
Design, analyze, prototype, test, and troubleshoot mechanisms and cosmetic parts using SolidWorks
Develop innovative, manufacturable designs that meet quality, cost, schedule, and performance goals
Build and test prototypes using 3D printers, lasers, and manual/CNC machining equipment
Perform structural analysis and support material selection, with a strong preference for plastics experience
Support manufacturing, quality, regulatory, and sales teams throughout development and production
Interface with manufacturing partners during design transfer and scale‑up to mass production
Design and review manufacturing test fixtures and procedures
Analyze field returns, identify root cause, and implement corrective actions
Participate in risk analysis, verification, validation, and certification testing
Prepare and lead design reviews and project updates using clear visual and technical communication
Identify opportunities for innovation and intellectual property development
What You Will Need for This Role?
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field
3–5 years of product design experience in medical, consumer, automotive, or aerospace industries
Medical device experience preferred, but not required
Strong hands‑on mechanical aptitude — a “tinkerer” who enjoys designing and building
Exceptional 3D CAD skills; SolidWorks strongly preferred
Experience with SolidWorks PDM or another PDM/PLM system
Understanding of mass‑production manufacturing processes (injection molding, CNC, sheet metal, die casting, welded structures)
Experience with prototyping, test setup, and test execution
Experience with DFM, DFA, DFMEA, or other risk‑based design methodologies
Familiarity with structural analysis (FEA) preferred
Experience designing for regulatory and agency certifications (ISO, IEC, AAMI, UL, CE, FDA); 60601 experience a plus
Ability to travel up to 25% (domestic and international)
