About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Firmware Architect to define and drive the architecture of firmware for cutting-edge memory and storage solutions. This role demands a deep understanding of advanced protocols such as CXL, PCIe, and DDR memory controllers, combined with strong expertise in embedded systems. The Firmware Architect will take full ownership of the firmware scope — from requirements analysis to design and development — ensuring technical excellence across all artifacts. This is a pivotal role that requires self-motivation, accountability, and the ability to mentor junior engineers and fostering a collaborative development environment across engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities
Architectural Leadership: Define and lead firmware architecture for CXL-based memory devices, ensuring alignment with hardware and product requirements.
Scope Definition: Translate product and hardware specifications into clear firmware deliverables, modules, and milestones.
End-to-End Ownership: Drive the entire firmware development lifecycle, from design to validation, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
Artifact Review: Review design documents, test plans, and source code to uphold technical rigor and consistency.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with hardware, software, and product teams to ensure seamless integration.
Mentorship & Leadership: Guide junior engineers, foster subject matter expertise, and build a culture of technical excellence.
Debugging & Optimization: Use tools such as JTAG debuggers, logic analyzers, and exercisers to debug and optimize firmware performance.
Process Excellence: Champion SDLC best practices, including Agile methodologies, to deliver high-quality products on schedule.
Skills Required
Essential
7 –15 years of firmware development experience in CXL, PCIe, or storage/memory devices.
Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming.
Hands-on experience with FPGA/ASIC-based products.
Expertise in Embedded RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS, Zephyr).
Solid knowledge of Linux system programming concepts.
In-depth understanding of ARM architecture for embedded devices.
Experience in secure firmware and bootloader development.
Preferred
Knowledge of Linux Kernel internals, NUMA subsystem, ACPI/UEFI tables.
Familiarity with DDR5/DDR4 specifications and memory controllers.
Strong understanding of PCIe & CXL protocols.
Proficiency with debugging tools (JTAG, logic analyzers).
Ability to interpret and implement industry specifications and datasheets.
Soft Skills
Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Ability to manage and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Passion for mentoring and developing engineering talent.
