Summary:

Mizuho Global Services (MGS) is seeking a Cyber Fusion Center Analyst to help protect critical business operations by detecting, analyzing, and responding to cybersecurity threats across the enterprise environment. As a frontline defender within the Cyber Fusion Center, you will identify potential security incidents, assess business risk, and ensure timely escalation of threats to minimize operational disruption and cyber risk.

Key Responsibilities:

Protect the organization from cyber threats by continuously monitoring security events and identifying malicious or suspicious activity across enterprise technology environments.
Investigate and validate security alerts through event correlation, log analysis, threat intelligence enrichment, and contextual risk assessment to determine business impact and incident severity.
Reduce organizational risk by distinguishing true security incidents from benign activity and ensuring timely escalation of validated threats in accordance with established processes and service-level objectives.
Support incident response activities by gathering evidence, documenting findings, maintaining investigation records, and collaborating with security and technology teams during containment, remediation, and recovery efforts.
Enhance threat detection capabilities by identifying gaps in monitoring coverage, reducing false positives, and contributing to continuous improvement of security operations processes and workflows.
Collaborate with Threat Intelligence, Threat Hunting, Detection Engineering, and Incident Response teams to improve detection effectiveness, strengthen visibility into emerging threats, and support proactive defense initiatives.
Maintain high-quality case management, shift handovers, and operational documentation to ensure effective communication and continuity across a 24x7 Cyber Fusion Center environment.

Required Qualifications:

1-3 years of experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC), Cyber Fusion Center, Incident Response, Threat Monitoring, Cyber Defense, or related cybersecurity operations function.
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and methodologies, including MITRE ATT&CK, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and CIS Controls.
Knowledge of security monitoring, event correlation, threat detection, log analysis, incident triage, and security investigation methodologies.
Understanding of common cyber threats and attack techniques, including phishing, malware, ransomware, credential compromise, privilege escalation, lateral movement, and insider threats.
Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, VPNs, routing, switching, and network security concepts.
Familiarity with Windows, Linux, Active Directory, virtualization technologies, cloud environments, and enterprise infrastructure platforms.
Experience working with security operations technologies, including:
SIEM & Analytics: Splunk Enterprise Security, Microsoft Sentinel
SOAR Platforms: Palo Alto Cortex XSOAR
EDR/XDR Platforms: CrowdStrike Falcon, Palo Alto Cortex XDR, Microsoft Defender XDR
Security Controls: IDS/IPS, Firewalls, DLP, Email Security, Identity Security, Cloud Security Solutions
Strong analytical, investigative, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Ability to prioritize workload, manage multiple investigations, and operate effectively in a fast-paced shift-based environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional growth in cybersecurity.

Preferred Qualifications:

Industry certifications such as Security+, CySA+, SSCP, GSEC, GCIH, SC-200, CCNA, or equivalent.
Exposure to threat intelligence, threat hunting, digital forensics, or incident response programs.
Experience with scripting or automation using PowerShell, Python, or similar technologies.
Cloud security knowledge or certifications across Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Experience supporting cybersecurity operations within highly regulated industries such as financial services.
