ROLE OVERVIEW
Set and execute the multi-year technical roadmap for Battery Management Systems — with a sharp focus on software architecture, state-estimation algorithms and digital intelligence. Own the complete BMS stack from embedded firmware through cloud analytics, ensuring safety-certified, production-proven systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Define the BMS software architecture: real-time embedded layer, application software, communication stack (CAN, Modbus, Ethernet) and cloud telemetry interfaces
Lead development of advanced SOC, SOH, SOP and RUL estimation algorithms using Kalman filters, physics-based and data-driven ML models
Oversee teams developing firmware, high-level application software and full system integration across pack, PCS and EMS
Drive cloud platform and IoT architecture: data ingestion, data lakes, dashboards for fleet analytics and predictive maintenance
Approve HIL and SIL validation strategies for all BMS functions; set code quality, CI/CD and testing standards
Ensure compliance with functional safety (ISO 26262 / IEC 61508) and cybersecurity (ISO 21434) standards
Manage and mentor a team of embedded software engineers, algorithm developers and cloud architects
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Deep expertise in embedded systems: RTOS (FreeRTOS, QNX or equivalent), C/C++ firmware and hardware bring-up
Proven SOC/SOH algorithm development for LFP chemistry — including flat open-circuit voltage curve challenges
Strong software engineering: Git, CI/CD, automated test frameworks, code review practices
Proficiency in Python and MATLAB/Simulink for algorithm prototyping and model-based development
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP), IoT protocols and big-data pipelines
Understanding of functional safety (ISO 26262) and cybersecurity (ISO 21434) for safety-critical software
Ability to scale and lead engineering teams of 20+ across firmware, software and cloud disciplines
