We are seeking a talented electrical engineer to join a small startup in the space industry. The candidate will own hardware design and testing efforts on microelectronics and systems for space applications. The candidate will drive the development efforts for microelectronic modules and systems for space applications, including solid state drive (SSD) products. Direct work experience with storage device is valued. Knowledge with aerospace hardware design will be a bonus.

Candidate should be a United States citizen or permanent legal resident (green card holder).
Educational Background
Bachelor’s, Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering. All levels of experience will be considered, although relevant work experience is desired.

Technical Expertise
Strong understanding of digital and analog microelectronic devices, including: Embedded Systems, Processors, GPUs, FPGAs, SoCs, Microprocessors, Memories (e.g. DDR, NAND Flash, SRAM), Analog and Mixed-signal devices (e.g., ADCs, DACs), Power Regulation devices (e.g. DC/DC converter, regulators)
Experience with Solid State Drives, Embedded Storage. Familiarity with NAND flash, DDR memory subsystems and ONFI interfaces.
Understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal considerations in hardware design
Experience with test automation, and designing test benches/systems for device types mentioned above
Knowledge of PCB design, assembly, debugging, including experience with using schematic capture and PCB layout software (e.g., Altium Designer, KiCAD, or Cadence Allegro)
Knowledge of electrical, thermal, and mechanical design specifications for aerospace / space applications is a bonus
Programming and Tool Proficiency
Proficient in developing test automation scripts and instrumentation using: Python, LabVIEW, and similar platforms
Familiarity with other programming languages (e.g., C/C++, machine assembly language)
Familiarity with various electronic test equipment (e.g. digital oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, data acquisition equipment, signal generators, RF test equipment).
Responsibilities
Own hardware design and development, test bring-up, testing, debugging, failure analysis, writing test reports
Travel for testing at off-site facilities (primarily in the US but may include international travel)
Coordinate with customers, suppliers, test facilities
