Founding Engineer -- Evrim (Start-Up based in Washington, DC Metro Area)

About Evrim
Evrim is the upstream signal layer for U.S. financial institutions, the defense industrial base, and federal agencies. We surface the technologies, economies, and alliances reshaping global markets - months to years before they reach English-language platforms. We believe the organizations financing and shaping the future deserve to see where it's heading, and we build for teams that need to be first.

The Role
As Founding Engineer, you'll set the pace and direction for the infrastructure behind Evrim's Data and AI work. You'll be based with the team at our Crystal City, Virginia office on a hybrid schedule, with some travel to support customer deployments of the Evrim stack. This is a high-ownership role with real equity and a direct line to the product's future.

What you'll do:
Build the large-scale infrastructure behind our Data and AI work - from ingestion, through extraction, to a source-cited confidence score on every value we surface.
Manage, deploy, and optimize both traditional ML and LLM models in production.
Push the frontier on how LLMs and agents reshape disambiguation, entity resolution, and ontology.
Work directly with customers across commercial and national security mission sets to understand their use cases and workflows.

What we're looking for:
Strong foundations with multi-cloud infrastructure.
Experience managing, deploying, and optimizing traditional ML and LLM models.
A forward-leaning view on how LLMs and agents will change disambiguation, entity resolution, and ontology.
Comfort working closely with customers to understand their use cases and workflows.
Passion for supporting commercial and national security mission sets.
Openness to working in-person 3 days a week in Crystal City, VA.

Why join now?
Founding engineers shape everything that comes after them. You'll have the autonomy to make foundational architecture decisions, equity that reflects the stakes, and the chance to build technology that matters for some of the country's most important missions.
