Fire Alarm CAD Engineer
Location: Orland Park, IL
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $60,000 - $80,000
Job Description:
Our client is seeking a CAD Engineer to join their team. This role is responsible for the design, layout, and coordination of fire alarm systems for commercial and industrial projects in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
Responsibilities:
Design and draft fire alarm systems using AutoCAD
Read and interpret architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings
Prepare submittal and permit packages for review and approval
Ensure designs comply with NFPA codes, City of Chicago electrical and building codes, and other relevant regulations
Collaborate with project managers, field technicians, and other engineering staff
Coordinate with city officials and attend site visits as needed
Manage multiple design projects simultaneously and meet established deadlines
Provide technical support during installation and commissioning phases
Qualifications:
Experience in fire alarm design, drafting models with CAD software
Knowledge of fire protection and safety codes and standards
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints
Project management skills and the ability to coordinate with different teams
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
Relevant certifications such as NICET I or II are beneficial
Experience in the construction or engineering industry is a plus
