About the Role
We are seeking a talented and motivated Embedded Validation & Test Engineer to join our Silicon Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing validation and test strategies for embedded IPs across SoC platforms, ensuring functionality, stability, and quality through rigorous testing, debugging, and automation. You will collaborate closely with development, architecture, and validation teams while leveraging advanced validation frameworks and CI/CD systems to support next-generation silicon products.
Key Responsibilities
Own and execute test strategies for one or more Embedded IPs including CPU, GPU, TPU, USB, PCIe, UART, I2C, Memory, Security, Multimedia, and Power domains.
Perform embedded software validation on SoC platforms using Linux, Android, or RTOS environments.
Execute nightly, weekly, regression, and stability test cycles and ensure comprehensive validation coverage.
Analyze test failures, triage issues, and provide detailed validation reports.
Exposure to scripting languages such as Python
Create, track, verify, and close bugs throughout the product validation lifecycle.
Debug software, hardware, and system-level issues through root-cause analysis.
Develop and enhance automation tests using existing test frameworks and CI/CD systems.
Collaborate with Test Leads to improve automation framework robustness, scalability, and efficiency.
Work with hardware architecture, firmware, and software teams to resolve validation issues.
Validate hardware interfaces and protocols such as PCIe, USB, UART, and I2C.
Review board schematics and hardware architecture to support validation and debugging activities.
Participate in validation planning, design reviews, and product readiness activities.
Generate validation metrics, status reports, and quality dashboards for stakeholders.
Support release qualification and production readiness of silicon and embedded software platforms.
Qualification
BE/BTech/ME/MTech degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, VLSI, or related disciplines.
Required Skills
3-6 years of experience in Embedded Validation, Test Automation, or SoC Validation.
Hands-on experience testing embedded software on Linux, Android, or RTOS platforms.
Strong understanding of SoC architecture and embedded systems.
Experience validating one or more embedded IPs such as CPU, GPU, TPU, USB, PCIe, UART, I2C, Memory, Security, Multimedia, or Power subsystems.
Hands-on experience in:
Embedded Software Testing and Validation
Regression and Stability Testing
Defect Tracking, Triage, and Root Cause Analysis
Hardware Interface and Protocol Validation
Test Automation and CI/CD Frameworks
Experience working with board schematics, hardware architecture, and platform bring-up activities.
Strong debugging skills across software, hardware, and system layers.
Experience using defect management and bug tracking tools.
Understanding of validation methodologies, test planning, and quality processes.
Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience with CPU, GPU, TPU, Multimedia, or Security IP validation.
Exposure to post-silicon validation and silicon bring-up activities.
Knowledge of firmware validation and hardware-software interactions.
Experience improving automation frameworks and CI/CD infrastructure.
Exposure to performance, stress, and reliability testing.
Knowledge of Linux kernel, device drivers, and embedded software architectures.
Experience working in semiconductor product development environments.
