About us
Modner Technologies is a medtech company building a non-invasive neurostimulation device and a companion mobile application. The device is being developed as a regulated medical device under the Medical Devices Rules, 2017, and is working toward CDSCO approval. We are a small engineering team at the Incubation Centre, IIT Patna.

The role
You will own the analog and mixed-signal design of a neurostimulation device that delivers controlled electrical current to a patient. That includes the constant-current output stage, patient isolation, hardware safety limits, and electrode-impedance sensing front end.
We will be straight with you: this is a hard problem and most of it will be new to you. What we need is someone with genuinely strong analog fundamentals who wants to take this on, learn the standards properly, and own the outcome. We will back you with standards access, test equipment, external expertise where the risk warrants it, and time to get it right.

What you'll work on
Constant-current output stage: regulation across the load range, compliance headroom, charge balance and DC blocking on the patient path
Patient isolation, leakage current and creepage/clearance to IEC 60601-1
Independent hardware safety limits that hold regardless of firmware state, plus fault detection and safe shutdown
Electrode impedance measurement for contact verification analog front end
Power architecture for a battery-operated device
Schematics, multi-layer mixed-signal PCB layout, BOM and design rationale under revision control
In-house pre-compliance: leakage, dielectric strength, output characterisation, EMC pre-scan
Verification protocols and reports that hold up in a regulatory technical file

What we're looking for
B.Tech/B.E./M.Tech in Electronics or Electrical Engineering
1-3 years of analog or mixed-signal design experience
Strong fundamentals: op-amps, feedback and stability, current sources, precision measurement, noise, power electronics
Working knowledge of isolation techniques: isolated DC-DC, digital isolators, optocouplers, isolated amplifiers
Multi-layer PCB layout in KiCad or EasyEDA, with real understanding of grounding and return paths
Bench discipline: oscilloscope, DMM, LCR meter, SMU and the habit of recording measurements as evidence
Willingness to read standards text and turn it into design specifications

Preferred
You have shipped something. A product that reached the market and is in users' hands, in any industry - not only prototypes or academic builds
Exposure to production realities: DFM, first-article builds, yield issues, field failures on hardware you designed
Any deliberate energy-delivery or high-reliability analog work: power conversion, motor drive, instrumentation, industrial or automotive safety electronics
Biopotential or bio-impedance front ends (ECG, EEG, EDA, PPG)
Having taken any design through an accredited EMC or safety lab, including having failed and fixed it

What matters most
Safety-first reasoning. Verifying with instruments rather than concluding from simulation. Telling us when something is marginal before a test lab or a patient does.

Compensation: ₹4.8 LPA, On-site, IIT Patna.
Process: Resume shortlisting → Assignment → Technical interview → Founder conversation.
