Electrical PE – Transmission & Substation Engineering
We are seeking a licensed Electrical Professional Engineer (PE) to support high-voltage transmission and substation projects with a leading energy infrastructure organization. This role offers the opportunity to work on critical utility projects while taking technical ownership and contributing to long-term system reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as Engineer of Record, providing stamped engineering designs for transmission or substation projects
Lead electrical design for:
Transmission lines (PLS-CADD / PLS-Pole), or
Substations (protection & controls, SCADA, physical design)
Develop and review engineering deliverables in compliance with NEC, NESC, IEEE, and utility standards
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, construction, and project management
Support project execution including scope, schedule, and budget oversight
Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and support proposal development
Qualifications
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (required)
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited preferred)
7+ years of experience in utility / power delivery engineering
Strong experience in transmission line design or substation engineering
Proficiency with industry tools (e.g., PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, or substation design platforms)
Strong understanding of electrical codes and standards (NEC, NESC, IEEE)
Ability to work independently and lead technical efforts
Compensation & Benefits
$125K – $190K base salary (guaranteed)
Day-one benefits + PTO based on total industry experience
Flexible schedules (many teams operate on 4/10 work weeks)
