Job Title: Electrical Engineer – CREO Schematics (Wire/Cable Harness & Control Panel)
Location: Gloucester, MA (Onsite)
Job Summary
Applied Materials is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the design, documentation, engineering change management, and manufacturing build activities for complex semiconductor capital equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in electrical schematics, cable harness design, control panels, power distribution systems, and engineering change processes using Creo/Pro-E.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Design & Documentation
Develop and modify electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and cable harness drawings using Creo/Pro-E.
Design wire harnesses, cable routing, connector selections, grounding, shielding, and safety interlocks.
Create and maintain BOMs, part lists, and engineering drawing packages.
Review, interpret, and redline electrical drawings and documentation.
Change Management & Configuration Control
Process Engineering Change Orders (ECO), Engineering Change Notices (ECN), Vendor Part Requests (VPR), and Quality Notifications (QN).
Manage engineering releases and revisions through Agile PLM and Windchill.
Ensure proper configuration management and documentation control.
Manufacturing & Equipment Support
Provide onsite support during equipment builds and integration.
Troubleshoot wiring issues, connector pinouts, interlocks, and power distribution systems.
Work closely with manufacturing and assembly teams to resolve DFM/DFS concerns.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
Perform root cause analysis using 8D, Fishbone, and 5-Why methodologies.
Drive corrective and preventive actions for electrical and harness-related issues.
Improve harness reliability, system performance, and EMI/EMC compliance.
Required Skills
Electrical Engineering background with hands-on experience in electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
Strong experience with Creo/Pro-E for electrical design and cable harness documentation.
Expertise in cable harness design, wire routing, connector selection, grounding, and shielding.
Experience with control panels, load calculations, and power distribution systems.
Working knowledge of Agile PLM and Windchill.
Experience managing ECO, ECN, VPR, and QN workflows.
Strong documentation, drawing review, and revision control skills.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Semiconductor equipment experience.
Knowledge of vacuum systems, RF/power distribution, gas boxes, and motion control systems.
Familiarity with EMI/EMC requirements and UL/CE standards.
Experience with DFM, DFS, Lean Manufacturing, and Design Validation.
Vendor management, harness manufacturing support, and First Article Inspection (FAI) experience.
