Electrical Engineer
Los Angeles, CA
We are working with a new Space client in the LA area and they are on the lookout for an Electrical Engineer to join their Chief Engineer in working across the Design, Build, and Test across Electronic Hardware & Systems for Space bound Hardware.
You will work across the full development lifecycle — from schematic capture and PCB layout through assembly, integration, and testing — for both active customer programs and our next-generation free-flying satellite platforms.
You will work alongside a small, expert hardware team in a hands-on lab environment where your designs go from concept to orbit. This is an individual contributor role with future leadership possibilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and develop PCBs and electronic assemblies for telescope instruments and satellite subsystems.
Create schematics, perform circuit simulation, and lay out boards for flight and engineering model hardware.
Design power distribution, regulation, and conversion systems for space-rated hardware.
Interface sensors, detectors, and actuators with the digital and software layers.
Support integration, testing, and debugging of electronic systems in the lab
Contribute to next-generation mission hardware architecture alongside the chief engineer.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
3+ years of electrical engineering experience with hands-on design and lab work.
Strong analog and digital circuit design skills.
Experience with PCB design tools (schematic capture and layout).
Proficiency with test and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, multimeters).
Experience and ability to work with a fast paced, autonomously driven, and high performance team
DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience and proficiency with Altium nice to have.
Power electronics experience (DC-DC conversion, regulation, distribution).
Embedded systems or microcontroller programming.
Self-motivated with strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
Creative problem solver capable of working within a multidisciplinary team.
