Job Description : Layout design engineer with High-speed Layout design experience
Responsibilities / Main Activities
Senior
Perform complex work assignments requiring independent problem solving and decision making, requiring strong High speed layout technical competency.
Work assignments primarily involve senior/advanced level work and may mentor other electrical engineers.
Role Specific:
ECAD Engineer (Layout Design)
High speed layout requirements analysis.
Experience in High-Speed PCB Design with these high-speed interfaces
USB2.0, USB 3.0
RMII, RGMII, SGMII, Automotive Ethernet – 1G, 2.5G, 5G & 10G
MIPI CSI-2, FPD link – 3, 4 & GMSL-2,3
DDR3 / DDR4 / LPDDR4/5
PCIe

Required Training /Education : BE/ME/ M. Tech in Electronics Engineering
Required Experience : Senior: 8+ years’ relevant experience regarding the Responsibility / Activities (listed above) in serial development. Automotive electronic (mandatory).
Specialist Knowledge
Senior: Comprehensive
Microcontrollers and SoC based layout design with good fan out and placement strategy and know how on usage of blind vias or buried vias.
Analog/digital circuit layout (high pin & component density) designing with placement approach based on least cross interference.
Understanding of SI/PI concepts based on different high speed layout placement & routing techniques. Involve in pre and post layout simulation analysis with simulation engineer for signal quality and timing validation for
High-speed interfaces like DDR (LPDDR2, LPDDR4 and DDR3) Interfaces, RGMII, MIPI-CSI, USB2.0/3.0, FPD link III, GMSL1,2, PCIe, Nand Flash & eMMC etc.
Understand the power requirement for working layout and prepare a plan for power distribution based on different circuit’s power requirements.
Placement analogy of capacitors, diodes & resistors based on its circuit application.
Experience in Library Part Creation, Placement, Routing, DRC setting up and DRC error clearance, Generation of Hype File for SI and PI analysis, Generation of Step Files /.dxf files, Gerber and Manufacturing file generation, Penalisation, Manufacturing file verification through CAM and DFM verification with Valor Tool
Understand the component data sheet and Create the Library parts. Knowledge on IPC standard 7351 based PCB footprint creation.
Experience in various DFM implementation and Understand the DFM/DFT/DFX requirements.
Design changes recommendation and understand the PI and SI analysis report and implement the corrections in the PCB design
Worked on Impedance controlled PCB Design implementation.
Understand and Recommends the PCB Stack-up.
Good at EMI/EMC compliance PCB Design
Working with Manufacturing team on several technical and manufacturing aspects
Work experience in IPC guidelines implementation.
Preparation and Corrections to the Schematics
Generation of BOM from the design files
Netlist Verification, Verify the design against Check lists.
Collaborate in developing state-of-the-art designs of new or modified high-speed/high-density printed circuit boards.
Develop new PCB designs within the capabilities of the contract manufacturers and incorporate cost saving measures.
Develop PCB layout concepts that are in line with products that involve efficient manufacturing processes.
Maintain Engineering documentation files and incorporate Engineering changes received from mechanical/electrical Engineers.
Manage document control of all the PCB development work, in accordance with company standards and good design practices.
Actively participate with Product Design and Manufacturing groups at the different stages of new product development programs including design reviews and process improvement
Assist in the support of prototype construction with outside vendors, as required

Knowledge in electrical Layout design for automotive applications following automotive standards.
Methodological Knowledge
Senior: Comprehensive
Knowledge on IPC standards 2221, 2222, 2223 based layout design approach.
Knowledge on IPC standard 7351 based PCB footprint creation.
PCB layer stack-up analysis and discussion with Manufacturer to check feasibility & DFM support.
Ability to closely work with schematic design engineer to understand the requirement for component placement & routing strategy based on circuit application & improved EMC/EMI performance.
Need to work proactively with component manufacturer in getting all the recommended layout guidelines & also review the completed layout for any further improvements.
Prepare layout review documents and participate in review meetings with counterpart and play a peer layout reviewer for other projects.
Well versed in filling various PCB check lists.
Knowledge of SI/PI simulation is a added advantage.
