This confidential company is strategically bringing on a hands-on leader as the Director of Digital Design Engineering. Leading a talented team of design engineers in developing cutting-edge integrated circuits (ICs). The Director in this position will have first-hand involvement in diversification as the organization ventures into new products and markets outside of its traditional spaces. This design group fosters a company culture similar to a startup environment, requiring a highly technical expert to lead and grow the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Design Strategy and Execution
Develop and implement digital design strategies and roadmaps to support product development goals and meet customer requirements
Oversee the entire digital design process, from architectural definition and RTL coding to synthesis, timing closure, and verification
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including system architects, physical design engineers, and verification engineers
Hands-on Technical Leadership
Provide technical leadership and expertise in digital design engineering, including RTL design, synthesis, timing analysis, and power optimization.
Collaborate with research and development teams to explore new design methodologies, tools, and techniques that enhance design productivity, efficiency, and quality
Lead and mentor a team of digital design engineers, providing guidance, support, and technical expertise to drive the successful execution of digital design projects
Qualifications
Master's degree or PH.D. in Electrical Engineering
10+ years of total design experience in the semiconductor industry
Deep technical expertise in digital design techniques, methodologies, and tools
Prior management or leadership is not a requirement
Relevant semiconductor company backgrounds include Apple, AMD, Qualcomm, NXP, Analog Devices, Texas Instruments, Qorvo, etc.
