Wi-Fi Test Engineer
An innovative technology organization focused on advanced wireless communication systems is seeking a Wireless Connectivity Validation Engineer to support testing and performance analysis of connected devices and networking solutions.
This role centers on evaluating wireless functionality, diagnosing communication issues, validating product behavior, and supporting cross-functional engineering initiatives throughout product development cycles. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on troubleshooting, collaborative technical work, and improving the reliability and efficiency of wireless-enabled products.
Key Responsibilities:
Create and execute validation procedures for wireless communication systems and connected hardware.
Analyze device behavior related to connectivity, throughput, roaming, stability, and security.
Coordinate with software, hardware, and systems teams to identify defects and improve overall product performance.
Configure and maintain testing environments, including wireless networks, routers, and specialized lab equipment.
Document findings, summarize technical results, and communicate recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Assist with troubleshooting network communication issues and RF-related performance concerns.
Support customer-facing technical discussions regarding testing strategies, timelines, and validation methodologies.
Monitor developments in wireless standards and emerging connectivity technologies to improve internal testing practices.
Participate in maintaining laboratory systems and ensuring equipment readiness.
Desired Background:
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Professional experience working with wireless communication technologies and product validation.
Familiarity with Wi-Fi protocols and wireless networking concepts, specifically Wi-Fi 6 & 7.
Understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing, addressing, and general network configuration principles.
Experience using diagnostic and measurement equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, or traffic generation tools.
Knowledge of RF fundamentals and wireless signal behavior.
Ability to investigate and resolve complex technical issues methodically.
Experience with scripting, automation, or programming languages used for testing environments.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable managing multiple technical tasks within fast-paced engineering environments.
Preferred Experience:
Exposure to certification or compliance testing processes for wireless products.
Familiarity with wireless technologies beyond Wi-Fi, including Bluetooth or cellular systems.
Experience supporting over-the-air validation or antenna-related testing environments.
Understanding of automation frameworks or Linux-based testing workflows.
