About the Role: VLSI Engineer
We are seeking a detail-oriented VLSI Engineer to design, verify, and optimize integrated circuits and semiconductor systems. In this role, you will bridge the gap between architectural concepts and physical silicon, ensuring that chip designs are high-performance, power-efficient, and compliant with rigorous industry standards.
Core Responsibilities
- Design & Development: Develop and refine RTL designs (Verilog/SystemVerilog) for complex digital systems, focusing on power, performance, and area (PPA) optimization.
- Verification & Testing: Maintain robust verification environments (UVM/OVM) and perform functional simulation to ensure designs meet specification requirements.
- Physical Design Flow: Create and maintain documentation for synthesis, timing analysis (STA), and floorplanning to ensure repeatable, high-quality hardware output.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for design bugs and implement corrective actions during the pre-silicon and post-silicon validation phases.
- Tool Management: Oversee the utilization and validation of EDA tools (Cadence, Synopsys, or Mentor Graphics) and automated scripting environments.
- Cross-Functional Liaison: Serve as the primary technical contact for Architecture, Physical Design, and Fabrication teams to ensure seamless product transitions.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication, Computer Engineering, or a related field (Required).
- Experience: 0–5 years of experience in VLSI design, semiconductor hardware, or FPGA development.
- Technical Skills (Required):
- Strong understanding of Digital Logic Design and Computer Architecture.
- Proficiency in Hardware Description Languages (Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL).
- Familiarity with Static Timing Analysis (STA) and Power Analysis tools.
- Excellent technical writing and scripting skills (Python, Perl, or Tcl).
- Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of CMOS fabrication processes and Layout design.
- Experience with UVM (Universal Verification Methodology).
- Familiarity with RISC-V or ARM architectures.
What We Offer
- Targeted Placement: Direct marketing to our network of hiring managers in the Semiconductor, Telecommunications, and Consumer Electronics industries.
- Technical Resume Rebuild: Optimization of your profile to highlight RTL coding, verification expertise, and EDA tool proficiency.
- Interview Coaching: Guidance on technical assessments and behavioral interviews focused on VLSI fundamentals and problem-solving.
