Industrial Technical Visual Reasoning Specialist (Subject Matter Expert)
Job Overview
We are seeking experienced engineers, technical professionals, simulation specialists, and domain experts to
develop high-quality multimodal reasoning benchmarks based on authentic industrial and engineering artifacts.
The experts will create realistic, professional-grade visual reasoning problems that evaluate advanced
structural, spatial, functional, and analytical reasoning skills. Contributors will leverage real-world technical
documentation, drawings, schematics, layouts, and engineering artifacts to create benchmark tasks that can
only be solved through careful visual interpretation and domain expertise.
The benchmark spans multiple engineering and industrial disciplines and is intended to assess the reasoning
capabilities of advanced AI systems on realistic professional workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Benchmark Content Development
• Create complex visual reasoning problems based on authentic industrial and engineering artifacts.
• Develop tasks that require multi-step reasoning, analysis, troubleshooting, design interpretation,
planning, or decision-making.
• Ensure that the visual artifact is essential to solving the problem and that the task cannot be answered
from text alone.
• Design questions that emphasize structural, spatial, functional, and systems-level reasoning rather than
simple visual lookup or OCR.
Problem/Solution Authoring
For each benchmark item, create:
1. Problem Statement
o A clear and unambiguous description of the task.
2. Visual Artifact
o An authentic engineering or industrial artifact such as a CAD drawing, schematic, blueprint, floor
plan, P&ID, assembly diagram, process flow diagram, network topology, plant layout, or system
diagram.3. Final Answer
o A concise, objective, and verifiable answer.
4. Worked Solution
o A detailed step-by-step reasoning process demonstrating how the answer is derived from the
visual artifact.
Domains of Interest
Experts with experience in one or more of the following domains are encouraged to apply:
Semiconductor Engineering
• Chip architecture diagrams
• SoC block diagrams
• RTL and dataflow diagrams
Required Qualifications
Education
• B.Tech/Master's, or PhD in Engineering, Technology, Applied Sciences, Architecture, or a related
discipline.
Professional Experience
Candidates should possess either:
• 2+ years of relevant industry experience in engineering, design, operations, maintenance,
manufacturing, planning, inspection, or system development; OR
• 2+ years of professional experience in engineering simulation, modeling, digital twins, computer-aided
engineering (CAE), verification, validation, or system design involving the interpretation of real-world
technical artifacts.
Technical Expertise
• Strong understanding of engineering documentation and professional technical artifacts.
• Ability to interpret complex diagrams, drawings, schematics, layouts, and system representations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
• Ability to explain engineering reasoning in a structured and detailed manner.Skills s Competencies:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and logical reasoning.
• Ability to break down complex problems into structured, step-by-step solutions.
• Strong communication skills for articulating mathematical reasoning.
Preferred Simulation & Modeling Experience
Candidates should demonstrate the ability to:
• Interpret authentic engineering drawings, CAD models, schematics, blueprints, P&IDs, layouts, and
system diagrams.
• Translate technical artifacts into realistic problem-solving scenarios.
• Perform multi-step engineering reasoning.
• Develop detailed worked solutions based on visual evidence and domain knowledge.
• Understand the operational and functional context represented by engineering artifacts.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in AI data creation, benchmark development, annotation, or model evaluation.
• Experience creating technical assessments, certification exams, or educational content.
• Experience reviewing engineering documentation and technical specifications.
• Familiarity with multimodal AI systems and visual reasoning benchmarks.
• Advanced degree or professional certification in a relevant discipline.
