Position Description
The VDC Engineer will manage, evaluate and assess model-based information from our design teams, trade subcontractors, and others to support the construction the project as specified by the contract documents. Operate all construction technology in the field including; BIM, drones, 360 cameras, and 3D Scanners.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Support CHASSE's comprehensive project design and execution process.
Managing coordination models and model-based submittals and shop drawings. Assessing conformance to contract specifications.
Resolving issues related to plans and specifications, especially as it relates to the organization, use, management, and BIM model [updating], by interacting with architects, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, inspectors.
Provide Trimble Operator with needed drawing files.
Willing to be trained and operate Trimble Total Station and Scanner when needed by Trimble Operator.
Support the management of point clouds and model from point clouds.
Create 4D models; linking 3D models to schedules.
Developing reports including reports/assessments on coordination meeting records, constraint logs, etc.
Help projects with other construction technologies such as Digital Drawings, 360 degree cameras, etc.
Run point on project specific “Start Up Package”
Minimum Requirements:
Ability to read construction documents
Proficient in Revit (Create new projects, gridlines, families, etc.)
Proficient in Navisworks (Align models, run clash detections, etc.)
Willing to learn and work in fast paced environment
Learning Objectives:
Quality Control – Trimble Total Station & Scanner
Coordination – Create Solutions for Model/Field
Planning – Ability to devise construction phasing/logistics plan
Communication – Demonstrate clear communication through project team
Education:
Graduated or currently obtaining degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or Engineering.
