Verification Engineer II — Power Validation | Wearable Devices
We're building the next generation of wearable devices — and we need a power validation engineer who thrives at the intersection of hardware, firmware, and software. You'll own power measurement methodology from early proof-of-concept through mass production, collaborating across teams to ensure our products hit their power KPIs.
About the Role
As a Verification Engineer II, you will define power measurement methodologies and drive power validation from early proof-of-concept through mass production. You'll implement validation infrastructure to support automation of power measurements and ensure the product meets power KPIs. You'll collaborate with Power and Performance architecture and cross-functional software, firmware, and hardware teams to debug power issues and validate power subsystems from concept to OK2Ship phase.
What You'll Do
• Validate and characterize power subsystems from early proof-of-concept to mass production • Bring up, debug, and validate power circuitry on prototype hardware • Develop and maintain automation frameworks for power measurement and testing • Execute test cases related to power validation • Capture power consumption data under different use cases • Report issues in bug tracking systems and debug with hardware and software teams • Support root cause analysis for power, SoC/Memory, and other components • Maintain and improve validation test reports, plans, and test instructions • Debug power issues with cross-functional software, firmware, and hardware teams
Must-Have Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience • 3+ years of experience validating power subsystems for consumer devices • Working knowledge of Bucks, Boost, LDOs, Load Switches, Fuel Gauge, SoC power, etc. • Basic understanding of Android OS, Linux kernel, and SoC power architecture • Familiarity with communication protocols — I2C, SPI, UART • Experience defining validation plans for power subsystems • Experience capturing power consumption data under different use cases • Experience using lab equipment (multimeters, power supplies, loads, oscilloscopes, data acquisition units) • 3+ years of experience writing scripts in Python/LabView
Nice-to-Have Skills
• Experience with Qualcomm chipsets and Qualcomm SoC • Deeper understanding of SoC power architecture • Prior experience working on consumer electronic devices
What We're Looking For
• 3+ years of overall engineering experience • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
