This Role In Summary
Whirlpol is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Verification and Validation (V&V) Technician. This is an onsite role at our Research Center in Benton Harbor, MI.
The Verification and Validation (V&V) Technician is accountable to define requirements and verification methods for electronics components and its respective system application in order to ensure performance, reliability and safety.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
Be able to understand hardware requirements and based on that develop test plans for electronics modules
Apply Test to Fail methodology for electronics tests
Perform electromagnetic compatibility and interference tests (EMC/EMI)
Basic knowledge on EMC and EMI is an differential
Perform reliability tests for electronic boards
Basic knowledge on reliability is an differential
Perform bench and product validation tests
Be able to manage your own projects
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
3+ years of experience in an electrical technician field
1+ years of experience with product testing lab operations
Preferred Skills And Experiences
Associates Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Sciences or a Technical Institute/Trade School technical certificate
Hands-on experience building test setups: Electrical and environmental tests (electronic board setup, wiring, monitoring and automation)
Capable of electronic components, hand soldering, reflow, and rework of small packages.
Hands-on experience with digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, and electronic loads
Desired experience in some of the following areas:
Test setup
Electronic test execution
Failure mode analysis
Quality tools (OpEx)
Power supply and power management
National and international standards related to electronics (NRB, IEC, UL)
Strong documentation writing skills
