Title: VAVE Engineer

Required Skills:
Underbody parts design
Experience with manufacturing processes including stamping and welding
Knowledge of cost breakdown and should-cost analysis
Strong understanding of sheet metal part design
Proficiency in CAD tools such as CATIA or NX
Experience with PLM systems
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop automotive underbody and exhaust system components
Support product development and VAVE/cost engineering activities
Perform cost breakdown and should-cost analysis for automotive components
Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams for design optimization
Support manufacturing feasibility for stamping, welding, and assembly processes
Participate in teardown benchmarking and cost reduction workshops
Ensure designs meet quality, cost, and performance requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field
5+ years of experience in automotive product development or cost engineering
Experience working with OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers preferred
Familiarity with Ford systems and processes including GPDS, WERS, and AIMS preferred
Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
