About the Guild
Founded in 2022, Ethereal Exploration Guild (The Guild) is building the World’s First Fully Reusable Medium-Lift Launch Vehicle/Rocket, Razor Crest Mk-1(RCM1).

Based in India, the team has a combined flight heritage of over 75 launches from the PSLV and GSLV fleets, and more than 300 years of collective experience in the space industry. The Guild is also developing a 700,000 sq ft facility dedicated to Upper Stage Engine Testing, which is going to be India’s largest privately developed Engine Testing Facility.

The Guild has also built and manufactured India’s First Reusable Rocket Engine.

We are looking for a self-motivated individual to join the Hands of the Guild as a Valve Design Engineer.

Role Summary: End to end ownership of design, development & testing of fluid control systems mainly Valves & Regulators for flight-based qualification.

Core Responsibilities:
Own the end-to-end design and development of valve hardware for RCM-1, rapidly iterating from prototype builds to flight-ready, qualifiable systems.
Perform hands-on mechanical and fluid-flow analysis to optimize valve performance, actuation behaviour, and system-level integration within fluid networks.
Lead architecture and component selection for critical flow-control devices Main Fuel & Oxidizer Valves, Check Valves, Relief Valves, Isolation Valves, and Pressure Regulators based on mission use-cases and operating environments.
Drive material selection and Design-for-Manufacture (DFM) decisions to ensure scalability, reliability, and cost-effective production in a fast-paced build-test-learn cycle.
Define and execute validation strategies for valve actuation and control, including close collaboration with controls/software teams using HIL and SIL test frameworks during development and qualification.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers and technicians, to fabricate and test prototypes, delivering results within defined schedule and budget constraints.
Coordinate with supply team to define, specify, and procure required components in alignment with technical and program requirements.

Required Technical Skills:
Strong fundamentals in fluid mechanics and mechanical design applied to high-pressure and cryogenic fluid systems.
Design and development of flight-critical valves, regulators, and flow-control components, including sealing technologies, actuation mechanisms, and material compatibility.
Experience in design for extreme environments (cryogenic temperatures, pressure transients, vibration, and thermal cycling).
Proficiency in Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Reliability (DFR), and tolerance stack-up analysis for precision hardware.
Ability to define and execute qualification and acceptance testing (proof, burst, leak, cycle life, environmental testing).
Knowledge of materials selection, surface treatments, and cleanliness requirements for oxygen-compatible and high-purity systems.
Experience with failure analysis, root-cause investigation, and corrective action implementation in development programs.
CAD tools such as SolidWorks / Siemens NX for detailed component and assembly design.
CFD tools (e.g., ANSYS Fluent / Star-CCM+) for flow characterization, pressure drop, and cavitation assessment.
Data analysis and test-processing tools such as Python for validation and performance assessment.
Familiarity with HIL/SIL test environments and instrumentation platforms for actuation and control validation.

Preferred Skills & Experience:
3+ years in aerospace, launch vehicle, propulsion systems, cryogenic systems, or other high-reliability industries.
Demonstrated experience taking hardware from concept through qualification to production or flight deployment.
Exposure to rapid development environments involving iterative prototyping, integrated testing, and cross-functional collaboration.
Experience working with suppliers, fabrication partners, and quality teams to industrialize precision components.
Prior involvement in mission-critical or safety-critical systems where reliability, traceability, and documentation were essential.
