VALIDATION ENGINEER
Versigent designs and delivers the systems that move power through modern technology. From vehicles to robotics to energy platforms, our electrical distribution systems enable the next generation of electrified, automated and connected products.
As a standalone company, we combine deep engineering expertise with the speed and focus needed to solve increasingly complex challenges. Our teams move quickly, think with precision and deliver at scale — helping customers do more without adding cost, weight or complexity.
What defines us is how we work: with the agility and momentum of a startup, backed by the experience and discipline of a proven global leader. That combination creates an environment where ideas move faster, ownership is real and impact is visible.
YOUR ROLE
In this role, you will work with the customer and our engineering team to document and provide results for customer requirements.
Responsibilities
Work with customer engineering to identify wiring harness design verification and product validation requirements (design specifications/testing requirements, etc.)
Review all test procedures and develop appropriate test plans
Provide recommendations to customers if previously identified test plan(s) do not meet the test purpose/outcome (sample size calculations, specification updates, etc.)
Participate in wiring harness design reviews
Identify designs that do not meet specifications (Splices, sealed terminals, etcetera)
Provide design recommendations for cost optimization
Identify previously validated components to use on the harness to reduce validation cost
Facilitate all physical harness testing, including the acquisition of actual test parts and the coordination of quoting/payment process to non-Versigent test labs (if necessary)
Communicate all design and testing non-conformances to appropriate engineering team members
Work with the customer engineering team and provide design change recommendations for components that do not meet the various test requirements
Work with the customer validation engineer to create documentation (if required) and identify a containment until a validated solution is in place
Engage with Versigent labs (or outside labs if the testing is done there) to identify the root cause of test failures
Provide periodic status updates to customer and Versigent management on testing and design review
Obtain all documentation, data and reports from the required design reviews and test events; prepare and formally present this information to the customer engineering team for final approval/signoff
Coordinate with the Application engineering team and the Quality/PPAP team to complete proper paperwork and prepare package to send to customer for final approval – thereby allowing shipment of harnesses to the Vehicle Assemble Plant
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
Minimum of two years of experience in a validation or test role
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Ability to work onsite in Troy, MI
Must be legally able to work in the United States without requirement of any type of visa sponsorship or transfer now, or at any time in the future
