Validation Engineer

Validation Engineer – ICE Engines

The resource will join the Development & Test Department, supporting testing and validation activities for Internal Combustion Engines (ICE) in a laboratory environment.

He/She will work in close collaboration with senior engineers during test execution, ensuring high data quality standards and contributing to technical reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.

The role includes hands-on activities in the test cell, execution and management of validation test plans, and detailed technical analysis of engine components and test results.

Key responsibilities for the position:

• Execute validation test campaigns for ICE engines according to defined procedures and safety standards

• Perform daily test cell activities including test setup, monitoring, troubleshooting, and coordination with technicians

• Manage structured validation test plans (endurance, performance, durability, emissions-related testing), including scheduling, progress tracking, and deviation management

• Conduct detailed tear-down inspections: dimensional checks, wear analysis, failure documentation, and component condition reporting

• Analyze test results using post-processing tools (e.g., Concerto, Uniplot), ensuring data accuracy and reliability

• Prepare preliminary technical evaluations and recommendations based on test outcomes

• Draft technical reports for internal stakeholders and support senior engineers in customer-facing documentation

• Contribute to the improvement of testing methodologies, validation practices, and laboratory workflows

• Support interns, technicians, and junior engineers in daily lab activities when required

Key requirements for the position:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive Engineering, or related field

• Minimum 2/3 years of hands-on experience in ICE engine testing or powertrain validation

• Strong experience in test cell operations and troubleshooting of engine testing equipment

• Experience managing structured validation plans and complex test campaigns

• Proficiency in data analysis and post-processing tools (e.g., Concerto, Uniplot)

• Ability to perform structured tear-down analysis with clear and detailed documentation

• Familiarity with ECU interfaces and calibration tools (e.g., ATI Vision, ETAS INCA) is considered a plus

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

• Fluency in English
