Job Title: Vendor Engineer – Cellular / WWAN Validation & Debug
Location: Remond, WA
Onsite/ Hybrid/ Remote: Onsite
Role Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated vendor engineer with strong expertise in cellular technologies (4G/5G) to support device validation, debugging, and certification activities. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams (FW, SW, modem, and labs) to ensure robust cellular performance and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Perform end-to-end device validation for cellular technologies including LTE, 5G (SA/NSA) features
Execute and analyze lab and field testing across multiple carriers and network conditions
Conduct protocol-level debugging using logs (QXDM, MBIM traces, modem logs, etc.)
Identify, isolate, and root-cause cellular connectivity issues (attach, call drops, data failures, standby behavior)
Work with internal teams and vendors to triage bugs and drive issues to closure
Support regression validation and sanity verification.
Generate test reports, defect summaries, and RCA documentation
Contribute to improving test coverage, automation, and validation frameworks
Required Skills & Experience
Core Technical Skills
Strong protocol knowledge (3GPP – LTE/5G signaling, NAS/RRC basics, IMS/SIP flows)
Device testing experience (smartphones, modems, or embedded systems)
Hands-on experience with cellular test equipment (e.g., call boxes like Anritsu, Keysight, Rohde & Schwarz)
Experience in log analysis and debugging tools (e.g., QXDM, modem logs, trace analysis)
Good understanding of cellular call flows, attach procedures, and data connectivity
Working knowledge of scripting (Python / PowerShell / Bash) for test automation, log parsing, or workflow efficiency
