| WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Propulsion Systems group at Slate is looking for an upbeat, fun, organized, experienced Torque Control Calibrations Engineer, Senior to join our growing team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to pedal calibration, torque shaping, cruise control, brake torque interface, etc.
| WHAT YOU GET TO DO
As a member of the Propulsion Systems Engineering group, the Calibration Engineer will be responsible for integrating key parts of the software and calibrating various parts for the production vehicle.
Prototype and production intent vehicle calibration and support.
Translate vehicle requirements/functional objectives and formulate development and testing plans.
The Calibration Engineer will work with SLATE suppliers (through Development Phases Alpha, Beta, PV, Product intent)) and with SLATE cross-functional teams (Chief Engineer, architecture, purchasing, program manager, and quality engineers) to ensure the successful launch and release.
Define, execute and supervise design verification plans (DVP) and reporting
Support production ramp and field issue resolution
Provide program deliverables on time per major development milestones
Calibration change management (documentation of calibrations and changes)
Execute programs through the development process that meet or exceed objectives for performance, drivability and customer satisfaction
Calibration Tools and documentation creation
| WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical or related engineering field
Minimum of 5 years in relevant experience (propulsion controls, calibration, and/or testing)
Ability to review software documents to learn and understand software.
Previous Hybrid or electrification calibration experience
Demonstrated experience with calibration and DVP&R through the complete product cycle
Experience in problem solving
Strong technical research and writing skills
Strong communication skills
Master’s degree in engineering or business preferred
10 years of experience preferred
Experience in the full product life cycle is a plus
Reactive and/or DFSS black belt experience preferred
HW/SW knowledge and validation/release experience preferred
