What You’ll Be Doing

As a Tool & Die Designer, you’ll play a key role in designing and developing tooling that supports our manufacturing processes. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, production, and toolroom teams to ensure tools and dies are designed for quality, efficiency, and performance while meeting customer and production requirements.

A Day In The Life

Design and develop tool and die concepts based on manufacturing needs, customer specifications, and production volumes
Create detailed blueprints, 3D models, and flat blank geometry using SolidWorks/LogoPress (Cadkey a plus)
Design punch press tooling ranging from temporary stage tooling to complex progressive dies with sensors and automation
Build and test prototypes to verify functionality, quality, and design intent
Review customer drawings, CAD files, RFQs, and specifications to ensure designs meet requirements and budget constraints
Collaborate with programmers, EDM, CNC, press brake, quality, and toolroom teams to support production
Select appropriate materials to balance durability, cost, and performance
Oversee tooling fabrication, approve requisitions, and support troubleshooting efforts
Modify designs based on testing, customer feedback, or engineering clarifications
Maintain accurate documentation for designs, testing, and production specifications
