Thin Film Lithium Niobate (TFLN) Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled TFLN Engineer to accelerate the commercialization of our thin-film lithium niobate (TFLN) integrated photonics platform. In this role, you will lead the development of automated wafer-level and die-level test solutions, ensuring our electro-optical modulators and PICs meet the rigorous demands of next-gen AI, datacom, and quantum infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Test Architecture: Design, bring-up, and automate advanced test stations for electro-optic devices (e.g., EOMs, phase shifters) at the chip and wafer scale.
Automation & Coding: Develop robust Python or MATLAB/LabVIEW scripts for instrument control (e.g., lasers, VNAs, Optical Spectrum Analyzers) and data acquisition.
Data Analysis: Process complex experimental datasets, perform yield and Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (Gage R&R) analyses, and identify root causes for performance deviations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside device design, fabrication, and manufacturing teams to feed performance insights back into the technology roadmap.
Qualifications
Education: Ph.D. or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Photonics.
Experience: 5+ years of relevant industry experience in integrated photonics or optoelectronic device testing.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in Python for test automation and scripting.
Hands-on expertise with lab equipment including VNAs, optical power meters, tunable lasers, and oscilloscopes.
Language: Strong oral and written communication skills. Fluency in both English and Mandarin is preferred to coordinate with regional foundries and supply chain partners.
