Role Overview
We are looking for a Test Equipment and Automation Engineer to support automated semiconductor test operations in a high-volume ATMP/OSAT manufacturing environment. The role will be responsible for test-equipment installation, qualification, maintenance, troubleshooting and performance improvement.
The engineer will work with ATE systems, test handlers, automation controls and equipment interfaces to improve uptime, throughput, test yield and production stability. Strong experience in semiconductor test equipment, industrial automation and data-driven problem-solving is required.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, qualify and release semiconductor test equipment for production.
Support ATE systems, automated test handlers, contactors, sockets and test interfaces.
Perform equipment setup, calibration, preventive maintenance and production readiness checks.
Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, control and software-related equipment failures.
Diagnose recurring equipment alarms, handler jams, contact failures and test interruptions.
Improve equipment availability, utilization, OEE, MTBF, MTTR and units per hour.
Develop preventive, predictive and condition-based maintenance procedures.
Partner with test engineering to resolve test-yield, correlation and hardware-interface issues.
Support equipment automation using PLCs, sensors, motion controls, robotics and machine-vision systems.
Integrate test equipment with MES, data-acquisition and factory-monitoring systems.
Analyse equipment logs, alarm history, downtime data and failure trends.
Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for chronic equipment problems.
Support new-product introduction, test-platform conversion and manufacturing ramp-up.
Coordinate with equipment suppliers for installation, upgrades, service and technical escalation.
Manage critical spare parts, consumables, maintenance tools and equipment documentation.
Develop work instructions, maintenance checklists, troubleshooting guides and training materials.
Train technicians and production teams on equipment operation and first-level troubleshooting.
Ensure compliance with EHS, equipment safety, ESD, cleanroom and quality requirements.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Automation, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
6 12 years of experience in semiconductor test equipment, ATE operations, equipment engineering or industrial automation.
Hands-on experience with automated test handlers and high-volume manufacturing equipment.
Experience in equipment installation, commissioning, qualification and production support.
Strong troubleshooting ability across electrical, electronic, mechanical and automation systems.
Working knowledge of PLCs, sensors, servo systems, motion controls and industrial communication.
Experience improving OEE, MTBF, MTTR, uptime, throughput or equipment reliability.
Ability to interpret electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams, mechanical drawings and equipment manuals.
Willingness to support production escalations and 24 7 manufacturing operations.
