Description
SAIC is seeking an experienced Test Engineer to support the Joint Range Extension (JRE) program with test and integration expertise. JRE is a Tactical Data Link system supporting the Department of Defense (DoD). The JRE test team supports testing and integration of hardware and software systems. Successful candidates will have significant DoD testing and test-oriented integration experience, excellent communication and team skills, and will be expected to continuously balance work priorities to meet rapidly evolving customer needs and dynamic deadlines. Well qualified candidates will be familiar with Tactical Data Links associated with Military Standards 6016, 6020, 6011 and 3011.
This will be an ON-SITE role in San Diego, CA. Must be local to area is required.
JOB DUTIES:
Test-oriented systems integration, verification, and validation.
Test results analysis, performance analysis, and concise reporting.
Perform test-oriented project support to enable integration of TDL systems.
Write test plans and procedures for specific system requirements.
Contribute to the electrical design, test, and integration of hardware.
Work with testing and validating existing designs.
Demonstrate software to potential customers, integration partners and management.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors and 2 + Years relative experience; years of experience in lieu of degree to be taken under consideration.
Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance within 18 months after start.
Military/Civilian background in Satellite Communications/Networking.
3+ years of relevant systems testing experience.
Experience with networking concepts and protocols.
Experience supporting Windows OS and Linux OS.
Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word software.
Understanding of Network, System Integration and Test Environment software.
UHF tactical radio operation experience.
Strong interpersonal skills, communication (oral and written), and presentation skills.
Self-motivated and works well within a team.
DESIRED SKILLS:
Active Secret Clearance preferred.
Experience with Military Standards and interface protocols desired.
Experience with JIRA and Confluence desired.
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
