Our client a well established technology/electronics company is looking for a Test Engineer to design, develop, program, and support automated test systems used in manufacturing. This role will develop cost-effective test methods, improve Design for Test (DFT), create test procedures and fixtures, and provide technical support and training to manufacturing technicians. The ideal candidate has a strong electronics background, experience with test equipment and programming, and hands-on experience developing or supporting automated test systems.
Responsibilities
Design, fabricate, program, and support Automated Test Equipment (ATE)
Develop, evaluate, and recommend state-of-the-art and cost-effective test methods and equipment
Evaluate new product designs and provide recommendations to improve Design for Test (DFT)
Develop test specifications and manufacturing processes in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering
Generate and maintain test procedures and documentation
Develop time and cost estimates for tester development projects
Train technicians on tester operation, troubleshooting, and proper test procedures
Provide ongoing technical support for manufacturing test systems
Assist in the design and development of manual test fixtures
Troubleshoot test equipment and identify opportunities to improve test efficiency, reliability, and cost
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
Must have Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
5+ years of relevant experience
Thorough understanding of electronics and electrical design principles
Strong understanding of engineering software and computer-based tools
Comprehensive knowledge of electronic test equipment and its operation
Programming experience applicable to automated testing and test equipment (Python, C#, LabVIEW, MATLAB, etc.)
Experience designing, developing, or supporting automated test systems
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to develop and document test procedures and manufacturing processes
Strong communication skills and ability to train and support technical staff
Commercial PCB Automated Test Equipment (ATE) operation and programming experience is a plus
AI experience a plus

$85-125k
