The Role, At a Glance
Lead manufacturing test strategy and test readiness for complex PCBA assemblies
Drive ICT (In-Circuit Test) development, fixture strategy, and Design for Testability (DFT) collaboration
Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and external vendors to support successful NPI launches and production ramp
Troubleshoot test failures, improve yield, and optimize production test performance in a fast-paced EMS environment
Coordinate test development activities across teams in Oregon, Wisconsin, and Mexico
Serve as the technical bridge between customer product design and manufacturing test execution

We are seeking a hands-on Test Development Engineer to lead manufacturing test strategy and execution for complex PCBA assemblies across a multi-site environment.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Lead development and implementation of ICT strategies for PCBA assemblies
Drive Design for Testability (DFT) requirements with customer engineering teams early in the design phase
Coordinate development of test fixtures, programs, and manufacturing test solutions
Partner with Test Engineering teams across Oregon, Wisconsin, and Mexico to ensure production readiness
Define test coverage, validation approaches, and manufacturing test strategies for new products
Support prototype, pilot, and production builds while troubleshooting test failures and improving yield
Coordinate with external vendors supporting fixture design and manufacturing test solutions
Track and resolve issues related to fixture performance, test coverage, and production test results
Facilitate communication between customer engineering, manufacturing, operations, and quality teams
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, throughput, and manufacturing efficiency

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
5+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing test engineering (PCBA)
Strong experience with ICT environments including flying probe, bed-of-nails, or automated test systems
Experience supporting manufacturing test fixtures and production test solutions
Experience in EMS or high-mix manufacturing environments
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills in production environments
Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and customer teams

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with DFT and PCB design collaboration
Experience supporting NPI programs and production ramp
Experience working across multi-site or global manufacturing teams
Experience coordinating external test or fixture development vendors

Occasional lifting of materials or equipment up to 25 pounds may be required. The ability to read technical documentation and work with computer systems for extended periods is necessary.

This position is primarily based in an office environment in Canby, Oregon, with regular interaction with engineering and manufacturing teams. This role requires frequent collaboration with cross-functional teams including customer design teams, test engineers, manufacturing personnel, and quality teams.

The employee may periodically work within a manufacturing production environment, where exposure to electronic assembly processes, test equipment, and manufacturing machinery may occur. Appropriate safety procedures must be followed when entering production areas.

The role requires ongoing coordination with test engineering teams located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Tecate, Mexico, involving regular virtual collaboration across multiple facilities and time zones. Occasional travel between company facilities or customer locations may be required.
