What You’ll Do
We are looking for a senior engineer who combines deep manufacturing quality expertise with the ability to drive Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled transformation. This person will operate at the intersection of engineering, data, and software delivery — translating real-world manufacturing and quality business rules into specifications that engineering and Information Technology (IT) teams can build, then validating that what gets built works on the shop floor.
This is not a traditional quality engineer role and not a traditional software role — it is a hybrid "translator" position for someone who understands parts, drawings, and process data as fluently as they understand how to scope a business rule for a development team.
Define and codify manufacturing and quality business rules by analyzing engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, supplier/manufacturing data, inspection records, and critical-to-quality characteristics across a variety of commodities and manufacturing processes.
Translate engineering and quality domain knowledge into clear, testable requirements that IT, software developers, data engineers, and contractors can implement in automation and AI-enabled solutions.
Apply advanced quality and statistical engineering methods including SPC, DOE, Gage R&R, gage matching, control charts, and Type I/Type II error analysis to validate measurement systems, process performance, and solution accuracy.
Partner with technical teams throughout the development lifecycle to review business logic, identify edge cases, guide solution design, test functionality, and ensure automation and AI solutions accurately reflect real-world manufacturing requirements.
Lead AI-enabled process transformation initiatives end-to-end — identifying high-value opportunities, determining when AI versus deterministic automation is appropriate, developing the business case, defining requirements, validating results, and driving successful implementation and adoption
Who We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, AI, or a related discipline.
Minimum 10 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree, or minimum 6 years of experience with a master’s degree.
Proven experience in manufacturing, supplier quality, process engineering, or digital transformation roles.
Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, SPC, DOE, Gage R&R, and quality systems.
Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Python, SQL, Minitab, JMP, or similar platforms.
Understanding of AI/ML, Generative AI, automation, and their application in manufacturing environments.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and communicate effectively with engineering, IT, and business stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
A track record of leading or co-leading process improvement or digital transformation initiatives from idea through implementation and validation
Practitioner of Lean Six Sigma techniques
Experience managing suppliers remotely.
Experience working with SAP databases or other database systems.
Our commitment
We believe it is important for every person to feel valued, included, and empowered to achieve their full potential. By bringing unique individuals and viewpoints together, we achieve extraordinary results.
