We’re supporting a leading global medical device company in the search for a Technical Leader – Design Engineering to join a fast-paced R&D innovation team focused on next-generation drug delivery device development.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role for an experienced mechanical design professional who thrives at the intersection of engineering excellence, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration.

What you’ll do:
✔ Lead and mentor design engineering teams
✔ Drive mechanical design activities using SolidWorks
✔ Support product development from concept through prototyping & testing
✔ Collaborate across R&D, manufacturing, and project teams
✔ Guide rapid prototyping / 3D printing iterations
✔ Participate in technical reviews and client-facing discussions
✔ Support design verification and engineering decision-making

What we’re looking for:
🔹 7–10+ years in mechanical design / product development
🔹 Strong SolidWorks expertise
🔹 Experience in medical devices or highly regulated industries
🔹 Background with plastic components / plastics processing preferred
🔹 Exposure to assembly line / manufacturing environments
🔹 Strong technical leadership and stakeholder communication skills
🔹 Available to work 100% on-site in the Chicago area
