PACCAR India is hiring a Technical Lead – Diagnostic Engineering to work in projects for medium/heavy duty trucks. This role leads to the development and validation of diagnostic functionality for vehicle electronic systems, ensuring robust system monitoring, compliance with standards, and effective aftersales serviceability across the product lifecycle.
Job Function / Responsibilities
Lead development and implementation of diagnostic strategies and content for vehicle electronic systems across programs.
Translate system requirements into diagnostic architectures, workflows, and functional specifications.
Drive end-to-end diagnostic validation at component, system, and vehicle levels ensuring robustness and compliance.
Provide technical leadership in analysis of ECU communication, fault behavior, and diagnostic performance.
Review and govern diagnostic requirements, specifications, and validation documentation.
Collaborate with global stakeholders including product development, software, validation, and after-sales teams.
Lead root cause analysis of field and validation issues and defines corrective actions.
Guide automation and efficiency improvements in diagnostic development and validation processes.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical direction within the team.
Qualification
BE / MTech – Computer Science / Information Technology Electronics / Automotive
Required Skills
9-11 years of related experience
Domain: Vehicle Electronics, Diagnostics, ADAS/Chassis/Powertrain Systems
Primary Skill: ECU diagnostics; OTX; ODX; diagnostic strategy development; CAN communication; UDS (ISO 14229); fault code management; system-level diagnostics
Secondary Skills: Diagnostic authoring tools (Grade-X); scripting (Python, CAPL); diagnostic validation environments.
Competencies And Behaviors
Strong understanding of automotive ECU architectures and diagnostic systems
Ability to lead complex diagnostic problem-solving and root cause analysis
